To ensure the best dehumidification experience, Govee recommends updating the firmware to version 1.00.20 after connecting the device to Wi-Fi for the first time. During the initial use, you may notice some sound and odor, which is normal and will dissipate after about 10 minutes.

The Govee Dehumidifier is designed to be energy-efficient, with the 2023 Energy Star Most Efficient certification, saving you up to 50.31% on energy costs. The device can remove up to 50 pints (2019 DOE) or 70 pints (2012 DOE) of moisture per day, making it suitable for areas up to 4,500 square feet. To maintain optimal performance, the compressor will automatically stop for 10 minutes every 8 hours of operation.

For convenient drainage, the dehumidifier comes with a 1.6-foot hose, and you can also attach a 3/4-inch garden hose (not included) to the drain hose connector. Be sure to position the hose with a downward slope to allow the water to flow out smoothly.

The Govee Dehumidifier also features smart functions, allowing you to control the device remotely via the app, such as turning it on/off, adjusting the mode, setting a 24-hour timer, and viewing humidity records. The app will also send you reminders when the water tank is full. To ensure proper air circulation, allow at least 8 inches of clearance on all sides and 16 inches on the top of the unit. In Auto Mode, the Maintain function helps regulate the humidity within a specific range to provide a more comfortable living environment.
